Nov 3: Al Jood Natural Resources and Oman Gypsum Industries entered into a joint venture to mine and export natural gypsum from Oman. Port of Salalah successfully exported 67,000 tonnes of natural gypsum using a post panamax vessel MV Sri Prem Poorva which called Port of Salalah recently.

 — There are two additive crushing lines. The first dates from the first line and consists of a Polysius jaw crusher, a secondary crusher and a tertiary crusher. The first takes material of up to 400mm in diameter down to 50 - 70mm. The second takes it down to less than 25mm.

The Mines has a reserve of 13 million tons of mineable gypsum. Al Jood has a permanent stockyard inside the port of Salalah. Al Jood is the 5th largest exporter of natural gypsum from Oman. Al Jood produces four sizes: 0-20mm, 20-50mm, 0-50mm & 50-100mm.

 — Gypsum output, currently averaging 86,000 tonnes per month, is proposed to be nearly doubled to 150,000 tonnes by early next year, according to a top official of Gulf Mining Group.
