Khor Khuwair is the largest limestone quarry in the world with a production capacity with sister company RAK Rock of over 60 million tonnes per year.

 — The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) published a list of the nation's top crushed stone producers, basing its ranking on data it collected into this year about their 2021 tonnages. According to USGS, more than 1.51 billion metric tons of crushed stone were produced across the U.S. in 2021.

 — The top 10 crushed stone producers accounted for 767 million metric tons, or half of the nation's total. Large, publicly traded companies such as Vulcan Materials, Martin Marietta, Holcim and others again make up the top 10 this year.

 — A port (Calcite) at the quarry sees self-unloading freighters take its products to ports around the Great Lakes." "Located in an industrial area, Rogers City is home to the world's biggest limestone quarry and the world's biggest limestone processing plant," the World Port Source reports.

 — Gramazini operates 28 active quarries throughout Brazil. The company produces a range of granite, quartzite and marble varieties, which are exported to countries worldwide. Based in Barra de São Francisco, Espírito Santo, Brazil, Gramazini has a nearly 140,000-square-foot production facility that employees 135 workers.

 — The top 100 companies represent 75 of all crushed stone production nationwide. The combined crushed stone production of the top 294 companies was 1.21 Gt, USGS adds, meaning 20 percent of the companies out there produced 89 percent of all crushed stone sales in 2016.

 — According to the Business Research Company, the global stone mining and quarrying market was worth $9.2 billion in 2019, with APAC accounting for more than half of the global industry.
