mill section view

 — Begin by creating the most critical views—elevations, plans, and sections. Each of these views should detail the necessary dimensions, materials, and assembly instructions. Make sure to add plenty of annotations to clarify anything that might be confusing to the fabrication team.

A Section or cross section is a view generated from a part or assembly on a cutting plane or multiple cutting planes that reveals the outlines on the inside or assembly fits. Sections normally comprise of two parts, firstly the Section Cut indicator with identification.

 — From what we're familiar with, drafting views is how this is traditionally done however this involves drawing everything from scratch essentially. What I'm looking to do is make a set of millwork detail drawings just as an intuitive as a callout detail of a building section drawn with detail items.

This section will cover the different types of section views, corresponding technical vocabulary, and help you determine which section view would best communicate important aspects of an object or assembly to others.

 — By looking at this Section View, we can determine the Width and Depth of this particular piece of Millwork. We also get a look at how the Architect and/or Designer outlined clearances as well as how the Counters are to work with the scheduled low wall.

True or False: Section Views on a drawing are displayed by a dashed line across the surface of any view of the part on the drawing. This 'Section View' will give the Operator the view of the internal details of features that are within the body of the part.

 — Sectional View: If you are including a cross-section view of the cabinet, draw the sink, countertop, and indicate the drawer with proper dimensions and annotations. Remember to use consistent conventions throughout the millwork plans and provide additional details such as dimensions, materials, hardware specifications, etc., to ensure …

 — Section View Drafting Fundamentals. When it is time to begin drafting our Section View, we need to make a slight tweak to the process to ensure that our Plan, Elevation, and Section all match one another. To do this, I like to copy my Plan View and place it off to the side.

 — Exploded views, section views, numbered parts, general dimensions, cutouts, and detail views (or close-ups) are all tools you can use to achieve this goal. It should be clear where each part goes and how it is attached – whether it needs welding, bolted connections, riveting or something else.

If our object has a complex geometry and we need to show this geometry clearly and unambiguously, the most convenient way is to use a section view. Not only is using section views the most convenient way but using section …
