sand classifier operation instructions

McLanahanCorporation's Sand Manager® Classifying Tank Troubleshooting Guide offers solutions to help maximize the production of your machine by offering corrective actions for situationssuch as the tank is not operating, the individual valve stations are not operating, excessive blowing from a…

How They Work. SAND-MANAGER® CLASSIFYING TANKS ARE WIDELY USED IN SAND, GRAVEL AND CRUSHED STONE PLANTS AROUND THE WORLD. The classifying method is based upon the principle that coarser sand settles near the feed end and finer sand is carried progressively further down the length of the tank.

Widely-used in sand, gravel, and crushed stone plants, McLanahan Sand Classifying Tanks provide a simple way to remove excess water and slimes or undesirable grain sizes from natural or crushed sand feeds.

Mining operations often utilize sand classifying tanks to separate sand from gravel and other particles and rid sand of silt and clay. The sand classifying tank passes a slurry solution through several vibrating screens designed to remove silt, slimes, and clays.

The Sand-Manager® Classifying Tank utilizes a percentage-based approach to control the classifying/reblending process. As material accumulates at a given valve station, your designated percentage is discharged to each product. You simply enter these percentage values into the Sand-Manager® controller to achieve the proper re-blending. Since ...

 — Removing sand fines through the classifier depends on several process details, namely 1) dwell time; 2) fluidizing air volume; and 3) exhaust negative pressure in the head space. Dwell time — The sand in a fluid-bed system resembles any liquid in a vessel. The faster that fluid is poured into the vessel, the faster the fluid will overflow.

 — With tighter demands on sand for concrete production, equipment used for screening the sand must become more efficient. Continue reading to learn more about sand classifier equipment, how they work, and AEI's sand washing and classification solutions.

Instructions for various maintenance procedures, such as replacing key components, can be found in the machine's manual. Properly maintaining and operating your Classifying Tank will help it function at its highest level and reduce unexpected downtime.

By implementing a rising current classifier, the tank's classification greatly improves by keeping the lightweight (smaller) sand fractions in suspension, while the heavier (larger) particles settle out in the coarse end of the tank.

Hydrogritter Classifier - Optimum Grit Capture and Dewatering • Heavy-walled spiral shaft, with protective wear shoes, up to ¾ inch thick Ni-Hard in larger sizes • No tank wear. Spiral is suspended between two bearings, operating with a bed of sand between the screw and the tank, improving dewatering and eliminating tank wear common with ...
